CUSTOM RING CREATION PROCESS

You’ll work directly with founder and designer Alla Bóhdan from your very first conversation until your ring is complete. Bespoke ring doesn’t cost more. It simply means your ring is made specifically for you.

I.

Your vision

We can meet in Auckland, connect by video call from anywhere in the world, or chat via email. We’ll discuss your ideas, inspiration, timeline and budget while exploring what feels most like you.

Designing your ring

Starting with sketches, we refine every proportion, setting detail and finishing touch before creating a precise 3D CAD model for your approval.

III.

Choosing your diamond

Once we have a clear direction, Alla carefully sources a selection of diamonds for you. Whether you choose a lab-grown or natural diamond, every stone is ethically sourced and IGI or GIA certified.

IV.

Bringing it to life

Once your design is approved, your ring is handcrafted by skilled jewellers in Auckland who share the same commitment to precision and craftsmanship that defines every BÓHDAN piece.

Most bespoke jewellery is completed within four to six weeks.

A lifetime of care

Every BÓHDAN diamond is backed by a lifetime manufacturing warranty, giving you confidence for years to come. You’ll also receive complimentary annual care, including ultrasonic cleaning, professional polishing and a thorough inspection to ensure your diamond remains secure and your ring continues to look its very best.

You do not need to know exactly what you want before we meet. Alla will guide you through diamond shapes, proportions, settings, metals and design possibilities, helping you feel clear and confident before making any decisions.

Most bespoke engagement rings are completed within 4–6 weeks after your design has been approved. More intricate custom engagement rings may take a little longer. Throughout the process, Alla will keep you updated so you always know what stage your ring is at.

Not at all. A bespoke ring isn’t priced because it’s custom, it’s priced according to the diamond, precious metal and complexity of the design. In many cases, designing your own engagement ring costs no more than purchasing a ready-made BÓHDAN DIAMONDS design.

Absolutely. Many of our customers begin with a BÓHDAN design and personalise it to suit their style. You can change the centre diamond, setting, metal, proportions, band width or add meaningful details to create a ring that feels uniquely yours. Every custom engagement ring is made specifically for the person who will wear it.

Yes. We work with couples across New Zealand and internationally. The entire bespoke jewellery process can be completed through video calls, email and messaging. Your finished ring is securely shipped worldwide with fully insured delivery.

Once your design and quotation are approved, a 50% deposit secures your diamond and allows production to begin. The remaining balance is due when your ring is complete, before collection or insured delivery.

Yes. Every natural diamond is certified by GIA, and every lab-grown diamond is certified by IGI. Each diamond is ethically sourced and carefully selected to meet BÓHDAN’s quality standards before it becomes part of your ring.

Yes. Before production begins, you’ll approve a detailed 3D CAD model of your ring. Once it’s complete, every piece undergoes a meticulous quality inspection, and you’ll have the opportunity to view the finished ring before collection or shipping.

Yes. Every BÓHDAN diamond is backed by a lifetime manufacturing warranty. You’ll also receive complimentary annual care, including ultrasonic cleaning, professional polishing and a security check to ensure your diamond remains safely set for years to come.
